Javier Ramirez is the Project Manager at the Yuma Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Commissary. Javier joined the GPE family on July 10, 2014. This site currently employs 15 employees, 10 of which are people with a severe disability. Javier’s job history includes 5 years in the Texas Army National Guard, 4 years of active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard and 8 years working in private correctional institutions managing overall prison operations.
Javier currently assists in training and policy making assignments for the company. Javier’s management style is leading by example and providing the individualized training and a unique encouraging approach that is often necessary for people with disabilities to succeed. Over the past 9 years, the Yuma MCAS Commissary has been awarded several performance awards for cleanliness, organization and shelf stocking operations. This is in no small part due to the GPE team’s efforts and continued pursuit of excellence.
